Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and qualified Forest Pathologist to join our team. As a Forest Pathologist, you will be responsible for studying, diagnosing, and managing diseases and disorders affecting forest ecosystems. Your expertise in agriculture, environmental science, and forestry will be crucial in identifying and controlling plant pathogens, assessing the impact of diseases on forest health, and developing sustainable management strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive research on forest diseases, identifying causal agents, and assessing their impact on forest ecosystems.
- Develop and implement effective disease management strategies to mitigate the impact of plant pathogens on forest health.
- Diagnose and identify forest diseases and disorders through laboratory and field investigations, including the use of advanced diagnostic techniques.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to assess the effects of environmental factors on forest diseases and develop sustainable solutions.
- Monitor and collect data on disease outbreaks, prevalence, and spread, and provide timely reports to relevant stakeholders.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to forest managers, landowners, and government agencies on disease management practices and prevention strategies.
- Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate stakeholders on forest pathology, disease identification, and prevention measures.
- Stay updated with the latest research, advancements, and emerging trends in forest pathology, incorporating them into practical applications.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Master's or Ph.D. degree in Forestry, Plant Pathology, Agriculture, or a related field.
- Proven experience in forest pathology research, disease diagnosis, and management.
- Strong knowledge of forest ecosystems, plant pathology, and the interactions between pathogens, trees, and the environment.
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques, including microscopy, PCR, DNA sequencing, and other diagnostic methods.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data, conduct statistical analyses, and generate reports.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to propose innovative solutions to complex forest pathology challenges.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders and present research findings.
